#OceanCommYOUnity 2023, The Ocean Foundation

Our Instagram feed with our staff’s favorite memories with the ocean sprinkled in

  • Worked with the social media associate to come up with a general audience awareness campaign around what it means for our organization to be a “Community Foundation”. Came up with branding, design, and the hashtag #OceanCommYOUnity to show audiences that everyone can rely on and enjoy the ocean.

  • Posted an inaugural blog post about our staff’s favorite memories with the ocean.

  • With our staff’s memories, developed social media graphics to post both organically and with paid ads, drawing people to our website and encouraging them to follow us. We garnered 13K followers in April 2023 on Facebook alone, and our paid posts generated an average of 1K likes.

  • Developed and promoted a user-generated form on our website for followers to submit their favorite ocean memories with us, so we could share some responses on our own channels and tag users.

  • Sent out an email newsletter promoting our user-generated form, receiving a 60% open rate and 20 form responses in under two hours.

  • Developed Google Display ads to generate even more content and subscribers to our website.

  • Currently using these photos and blurbs in donor appeal letters, our annual report, and a new video on what a Community Foundation is.

20th Anniversary 2022, The Ocean Foundation

  • Worked with the external relations team and program teams to generate audience awareness around TOF’s 20th anniversary.

  • Came up with a look and feel for the campaign, including branding and hashtags (#TOF20th #MakingWavesforClimate).

  • Developed a timeline video of our top successes over 20 years, and then repurposed the video into social media graphics. Published 104 related posts across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube, reaching 50K people and resulting in 2.4K engagements and a 4.9% engagement rate.

  • Created newsletter announcements for both our general subscribers and our donors to celebrate and participate — with a 45% average email open rate: Putting the Community in Community Foundation | Our Newest Initiative | Our Report Is Here!

  • Used graphics, timeline, and our successes to write and design our 2022 Annual Report around our 20 years in business.

#RememberTheOcean 2022, The Ocean Foundation

  • Worked with the social media associate and fundraising manager to come up with messaging for a campaign centered around the ocean’s link to climate change — to ultimately generate audience awareness and donations.

  • Came up with a look and feel for the entire campaign, including graphics, branding, and hashtags (#RemembertheOcean).

  • Created a toolkit for partners, donors, our hosted projects, and our followers to join us and invited them to share our campaign on their own social media platforms.

  • Kept the momentum going by posting updates and recaps on our website and newsletters, and posting these recaps again on social media.

  • Generated 150K impressions with 334 shared posts and 4K visitors to our donate page.
